Fiction with an undertow.

Blue Tide Books is a small, independent publishing house founded by author Kevin Monnin.

We specialize in original fiction that blurs the line between literary drama and psychological suspense, rich with setting, layered characters, and slow-building tension.

Every title is written, designed, and published in-house, giving each story the space to be told with full creative control.

Hollywood has moved on from Colby Grant. Once a celebrated director, he’s now broke, disgraced, and creatively paralyzed. With nowhere else to go, he returns to his small coastal North Carolina hometown, a place he swore he’d never see again.

Daniel Sutherland has built a life most people envy: wealth, charm, and a congressional campaign that looks unstoppable. But when a flattering newspaper profile triggers a cryptic message about a decades-old murder, the past threatens to destroy everything he's built.

With help from a local reporter, Colby starts to piece together a story that could redeem his career and expose the man no one in town was ever supposed to question.

Taut, atmospheric, and laced with betrayal, On an Island is a Southern thriller about legacy, power, and how far people will go to keep the truth buried.

“Smart, chilling, and impossible to put down—perfect for readers of Gillian Flynn, Lucy Foley, and Riley Sager.”
